Update! Did the drug screen and background check and all is good, so I got my OFFICIAL offer! Start the new job on Monday next week!

I'll be a data center technician. I get to play with servers. More hardware side, but I can do it easily enough. Replace drives when a Raid controller says one went bad, replace fans, basic maintenance, monitoring each server rack, all that fun stuff.

I get to work on all of that. I have to report at 8am on Monday to get my badge, to meet the crew I'll be working with, etc.

I am actually hoping to ask the wife if I can snag a bike before the first day so I can really take advantage of the HOV lane down the busiest highway in Houston. We shall see. I'm sure she will want me to wait. But I just know it will make the morning commute that much better. I've been eyeing a 2007 Honda VTX 1300 R at the local dealer that is reasonably priced.
