Oh ok. It should still be ok to install a 400ohm resistor.
Jon, you will want the 9 pin connector as well as the 3 pin connector. Even though the bike only uses 2 wires off the 3 pin, it won't fit otherwise. The wires on the 3 pin connectors link up with the turn signals and something else, which I can't remember right now.
