I work on a lot of BMWs. They use a lot of plastic in the engine parts. There is no problem and many benefits to this. And it's great to during the normal service life of the parts. But once past the service limit. It is trash. Very little repair potential for a plastic engine. That is not the concern of anyone anymore.
