One of my buddies was riding there yesterday and was telling me about this. For some reason, I opted to stay home and do some oil changing and radiator flushing for my car yesterday though, but after hearing about this I'm glad I did. Brutal. Crashing sucks enough as is- I can't even imagine what it felt like to watch his bike burn away into nothing afterwords (and to add insult to injury, the embarassing, inevitable riding passenger to get home that likely followed ).

Although, what I don't understand is how exactly he managed to crash there of all places. That is to say, in the middle of the one small stretch of STRAIGHT road on the snake. What was he doing exactly to fail that hard?

Is it at all possible that a FIRE caused the crash instead of the other way around?
