The newer R6s definitely have the tendency to catch on fire. I've seen it happen at the track - luckily, the marshalls all had fire extinguishers and the damage wasn't as bad as it was for that bike. It still took 2 people with extinguishers and a third on standby to make sure the fire was out.
Sucks for the rider.
