thats one of the cool things about smokeless powder, its not really dangerous unless contained in a vessel that promotes the build up pressure.
oven might have been a small enough area for the smokeless powder to gain pressure with that amount of powder. thats when it becomes dangerous, since oven glass can break in a little as 10 psi.
