Yeah, your weight is loading up the kickstand differently than when you're off. The switch may not be aligned properly or is defective (or wiring).
Here's a test:
1. Unplug kickstand switch
2. Bend a paperclip into U-shape
3. Plug it to bridge two terminals on harness-side connector
4. Try starting with kickstand up, down, you on or off bike. Neat huh?
