Importing a Canadian vehicle into the United States, if the vehicle wasn't specifically intended for the US, is a slow and expensive process.

Your first, large, hurdle is the EPA: http://www.epa.gov/oms/imports/index.htm

If that doesn't scare you off, then you can address the DOT import process:
http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/hs799short.pdf

The next step is finding an NHTSA registered importer:
http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/impo...t01122006.html

Finally, you'll owe a 3.4% duty on the sale price.

Yes, it can be done. But is is both expensive and time-consuming.
