I agree with #23 in that riding in the dirt teaches you how to react to a lot of variables (of course cars would be absent in the dirt, but in shared land such as dunes one has to look out for 4WD verhicles) regarding traction, speed, terrain quality. I am amazed that 50% (#25) of accidents are alcohol related, as discussed in another thread.
