Those tests were done WITH 3/16" filter in-line. I change them once per year during winter rebuilds. Never had problem with them clogging up over time. They could probably go 5-years without any issues, I just do them while rebuilding entire bike over winter. Got bag-of-10 for peanuts and might as well use them.

For non-track riding with less than 5% time spent at WOT, even clogged filter would flow more than enough.
