For the Norton motor sports guy. Try my Dual stack idea. Basically make the primary stack as short as possible whilst maintaining a smooth intake radius with the correct taper. Then add a secondary velocity stack mounted in line with the primary one, where the base of the secondary is inline with the top of the primary. Make the secondary as long as reasonably possible, with a proper full curved top.

The short primary gives the best high RPM flow & the secondary catches most of the pulse wave from the short stack at lower rpms & reflects it back as if from a longer stack as well as straightening the air flow.

I can send a diagram/picture of the setup I have on my 800. Be worth it to see if it improves airflow throughout the rpm range !
