Definitely use the reserve function of the tank. There's 0.75 gallons on reserve. Even if you cut that in half to account for the hump cutting off access to half of it, that's still 15-20 miles conservatively.
The trick comes for those of us who have an EFI conversion kit. We don't have a reserve tank.
