The trick is that, as clearly shown here, there are hollow spaces in the sides of the tail fairing. You can cram an amazing amount of stuff in there.

Note in the photos that I've got a tire gauge, multitool, factory tool pouch and various other bits and pieces in the tail... in addition to the cover.

My GSXR is similar but the spaces are less accessible. I still manage to stuff a lightweight nylon backpack (for last-minute shopping) and a nylon windblock jacket liner in there.



I don't recall which cover this is. It's fairly light nylon, pretty generic.
