Uh, that has nothing to do with underpaid/overworked. Bikes made in India and Thailand by much lower-paid and overworked employees have way better quality. And those folks actually take pride in their work!
I used to manufacture auto-parts and custom electronics and couldn't get the quality I wanted here. So off it goes to NZ first, then China.
