Sputtering, Tach reading double after push start

Push started my 08' ninja 250 with a dead battery and it ran like garbage, as if the carbs were clogged. Tried to die on quick throttle inputs. The weirdest part was that it wouldn't rev past about 8k, it would completely cut out after that. At about 8krpm it said the bike was beyond redline. The culprit was a very dead battery that must've been sapping all the current away from the coils. These bikes don't have a timed magneto so they must need a good voltage to the coils or CDI to fire. Everyone keep up on your battery maintenance or it might leave you stranded.

My solution was to charge the battery. I made sure it held decent voltage off the charger and then checked the voltage after a 20 minute ride. 13.12V. Seems like it's fixed for now. I wouldn't recommend charging batteries if you rely on this bike for transportation as a lone wolf with no one to come pick you up if your battery is screwed. I wish this thing had a kickstarter
