Thanks Rob for the great question as I googled it trying to figure out why my pilots had no hole and I could not get my smallest wire through. I appreciated Gordons idea for the guitar string, but searching around my shop I found some picture hanging wire and pulled a strand from the braided wire which nicely penetrated the pilot. This is key to this carb. Possibly the most problematic part on this carb. It doesn't take much to plug this jet. So thanks for the post and great carb diagrams here too. Runs like a charm now.
