I've had bar-end mirrors using that same mechanism for attaching to the inside of the bar. They rattled loose pretty quickly and rotated. More expensive units will have a better way of preventing rotation. Also, Chinese aluminum. They'll probably pass tech for club racing, but I wouldn't count on them saving a pinky in a crash, and they might not even stay in place to actually protect your levers from incidental contact.
I have the Woodcrafts and they've held up to one fast slide already. The plastic bit might need replacing next crash, it's a little weak. But Woodcraft offers replacements.
If I wanted to be cheap, I'd go with the mountain bike bullhorn handles somebody linked earlier. In fact, I think those might be the sturdiest solution I've seen yet.
