Its not just about max voltage output. Though obviously more is better. The energy that a coil can store is just as important.

I'm pretty theres no way to test how much the stock ones output without some expensive equipment.

I would say stock output no more than 30 to 40kv. Put the amount they can store is low.

I looked into this last week sometime. I think the cheapest I could find was around $150 for a high performance coil.
