Suspect that the sound from the exhaust is louder after 9 years / 60 kkm

I took out my 250 R, bought new in February '12, a couple of days ago.
As usual, the engine is weak, probably since the fuel has detoriated during winter storage. This usually gets much better after a tank or two..

Anyway - I might be wrong, but I believe that it's a deeper tone and stronger
sound from the original exhaust, than it was earlier.

The bike has mostly been used for my commute, about 80 km / 55 miles per day, in a coastal climate in Norway (not far from Trondheim, for those who
might have heard about the place). It has just above 60 000 km (~37 k miles).

Is it likely that the change in the sound that I believe that I'm hearing, is
due to the exhaust corroding from the inside? (I don't know how long the
original exhaust could be expected to last. Apart from rare exceptions when taking it to Sweden, I'm running the (FI) bike on 98 octane gasoline.)
