Ehhhh... From attempting to replicate Kawi's suggested 5.75 second 0-60 time for the pregen, I can assure you it's not as easy as it looks. I only got down to 6.25 seconds and I'm a light guy at 130 lb.
Yeah, that definitely is a part of the equation. Ignition gets cut based on a whole series of parameters including wheel spin, wheelie angle, throttle input, blah blah blah blah. It's not a one-variable system. That took a team of very smart people at BMW a long time to perfect. It's impressive how well it works and I'd hazard a guess that when put to use in this application, it's faster and more consistent than the vast majority of riders. It's really hard for an average Joe Schmoe to be consistently perfect on launches. It's also hard on your clutch.
