For me, case covers make sense on a bike where the engine cases are expensive.
But on the ninja, OEM engine cases go for about 130 each brand new and about 70 pre-scratched. So spending almost 100 to protect a piece that's worth 130. I don't know.

Now, if it's to prevent an oil spill on the track, I get it. But does this really happen? How long a slide has to be to grind the aluminum clutch cover all the way through?
I guess if the case covers are not mandatory by track organizers, then it's because it's something that doesn't happen very often. Organizers are usually more concerned about glasses shattering, coolant plugs, oil filters and oil plugs.

And regarding the oil spill, only the clutch cover would be needed, as there is no oil on the stator.

Maybe I'm missing something.
