Where are you reading that? The only advice that sounds similar is to never just lift the front of the bike, especially with kind that lift from the bottom of the fork legs. But as long as you lift the rear of the bike first, lifting the front is never an issue. The pitbull stands you bought are designed to do exactly what you're asking.
