You should be able to use just the throttle tube under the grip and everything else stock (depending on the year of your R6 parts).

The one I bought is the "Yamaha 2C02624000" and it fits and works great!

Based on the customer reviews on the Amazon page, it would seem that the difference is (stock grip is 1/4 turn to WOT):

2C0(2624)00000 = Yamaha R6 2006+ (1/6 turn to WOT).
2C0(2640)00000 = Yamaha R6 1999-2005 (1/5 turn to WOT)

So the one I bought is the quicker of the two (takes less twist to get to full throttle).
