Back when I worked at Advance Auto Parts we tested a bunch of plugs on my buddy's Jeep. We went through NGK Iridium, E3, and every other gimmicky spark plug we could find. Thankfully we also had a friend who worked at a tunning shop who had a really slow day and a dyno.
After a baseline run, any power increase was minimal. Don't remember numbers, but I think the biggest jump was less than 1.5 to the wheels on that big 4.0L motor. I don't look at new plugs to make a performance difference, I look at what plug is going to give me consistent performance for the longest. As much as people like new things and "performance" things, I've found that most of the time OEM is the way to go.
