You don't need a ladder. I recall in France in the early 80's when Dakar ravers were a thing, seeing French midgets (shorter than me anyways) pop key in ignition, walk round to right side, jump on a kick start, get bike running. Walk to left side, climb on the foot-peg like a stirrup mount the horse, select 1st gear & gas it away whilst folding the side stand. Was hilarious & entertaining all at the same time. No idea what they did at traffic lights �� I did see a short arse on a Laverda Jota once get caught by lights between cars & he just put his boot on the nearest car ! Not so funny for the car driver as the dude had hobnailed boots on!
