I had
E21's on my ZX14 and loved em. I only had saddlebags on that bike, no top case so I never took them off.
My consideration for my 250 is either get the V35's for long trips, camping, etc and just take them off when not needed since they are very large or maybe get E21's again and do the same or just leave on all the time depending on how I go about mounting them and how easy they are to remove.
