Wonder if there's contamination involved?

Decades ago, I got some 91-oct from 1st petrol station off highway-1 on way to Laguna Seca and car was bucking and snorting under WOT. Struggled through morning sessions by turning down boost and using only 75-80% throttle. Then filled up with 110-oct from station at track and that diluted crappy petrol enough to run rest of day.

I suspect 91-oct from that petrol station wasn't very popular and it had been sitting while. Perhaps tank had leaks and ground-water seeped in. Water's heavier so it would sit at bottom and get sucked out first.

WARNING: Avoid 91-oct pump at 1st and only station at Laguna Seca exit on hwy-1 !!!
