If you want to go 600 without breaking the bank and going extremely fast, your can go for a sporty twin 600. Suzuki SV650, Ninja 650, or the new Yamaha R7.

You also have the new Aprilia RS660, but it's as expensive as a super sport 600. And its reliability is still dubious. Beautiful bike though. Light, sporty, loaded with electronics, stylish.
