atleast you didn't get rear ended or anything. all is well and you learned something new.

i use my kill switch all the time, i think the dealer is just bs with you. did you take a msf class? they teach you to always use the kill switch when you turn off the bike. FINE-C. fuel, ignition, neutral, engine cutoff, and clutch/choke.
