Maybe its because you were riding with an almost empty tank? There's quite a difference of weight and nimbleness when the fuel tank is empty VS full

50 MPG is good for the way you ride, that's what mine is if I drive somewhat aggressively..I go easily over 60 when I keep the RPM low and throttle closed.

BTW... I used to have a WRX...and I MISS IT
