Daily driving, I rarely go over 7 or 8k rpm, and I usually get around 60. I have about a 3 mile commute and I don't believe she is warmed enough to really throttle it. If I am out and about running errands or just riding, I will get into more.
Freeway riding, cruising around 75 80, I get around 55.
Try tank of gas while riding it less aggressive and see what your milage is. The first car I bought, '84 T bird, got around 14 in town. My dad suggested I drive like I have an egg under my foot. Milage jumped up to around 20.
