I wouldn't be concerned with a difference of .2mm thickness in leather. I'd be more concerned about the quality of the stitching and how it fits. Armor is a concern too.
I've high sided in my Bilt TrackStar suit with 1.1-1.2 mm leather and it held up just fine. The only real lacking thing from that suit is shin guards.
Point is, the thinner leather will do just fine, provided the seams and armor are quality.
