[visordown.com] - BMW riders needed to represent Britain in GS Trophy

BMW are inviting British BMW riders to compete for an opportunity to represent the country in the 2014 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy International final in Canada.

The 2014 GS Trophy UK qualifier will be held at BMW Off Road Skills in South Wales over the Bank Holiday weekend of 25-26 May 2014.

The qualifier is open to riders of any BMW motorcycle and involves taking part in a range of off-road challenges on a selection of BMW’s adventure bikes, alongside road-based sections on their own motorcycle.

BMW offroad legend Simon Pavey will be hosting the weekend, and riders of all abilities and ages are invited to take part and experience a taste of what BMW Off Road Skills has to offer.

The three winning British entrants will earn their places in the final in Canada. Team UK will be flown to Canada for an all-expenses paid trip where they’ll be riding the new R 1200 GS for over 600 miles through the wilderness of Alberta, British Columbia, and crossing the Rocky Mountains, battling rider teams chosen by 15 other countries for the GS Trophy 2014 title.

The entrance fee to take part in the qualifier is £99. An optional one-day refresher course for GS Trophy entrants looking for some extra practice on Saturday 24 May is also available for an extra £249.

Riders can reserve their place online or by calling 08000 131 282.
