You're comparing a 500 parallel twin to a 600 IN LINE FOUR. I don't shift my 500 as much as my 250 either but you seem to be staying in the bottom half of the tach. when the 250 AND 500 live in the upper half, thats where the revving comes in and gets to to your sweet spot to cruise at. You rev a 600 gxsr and you'll break your front teeth on take-off and that's all, if your lucky. Happy Trails on the 500, Love mine.
