just in case anyone wanted to know how this project went I used Styrofoam for the back ground and covered it with a mix of concert and sand black sand with some light brown concert paint mixed in it gave it a ice earth tone to the rocks with a little sparkle with the black sand all in all I think it came out great. i have made a few of these types of backgrounds for a few pepole and they have loved them
