Agreed - but in your post you said it was 50/50 that the cop would show up. For CHP, that's just not the case. They will be there, pretty much guaranteed.

I've had them show, and I've had them drop the ticket in court, so in no way am I saying beating a ticket is impossible. Just don't bet on it being dropped due to a no-show, as the odds are way worse than 50/50.
