Slight vinegar smell. Would've been worst if I used the special seasoned one my mother uses :P
EDITED Post:
Gave the vinegar bath another try. This time with the float hole covered with a rubber stopper and petcock hole covered with a rubber sheet reinforced by the actual petcock itself w/ the filter removed.
Note: The four screws that hold down the float assembly does not go into the tank. It actually screws onto an elevated platform. I bought washers for the screws and screwed them in thinking they'd be needed so that's $3 down the drain. It's a good thing I didn't puncture the tank, just made indents on the metal which I had to double then triple check to make sure I really didn't do any damage.
Oh and I slapped this Orbital tank pad on. I had it originally on the replacement black tank which made the design look dumb. But on any other color, it's wonderful. I do suggest not buying it though. It's a pain to get the air bubbles out, I still have some but it's not as bad on a lighter colored tank.
