Why a non-"O"-ring chain on anything. I did something this past Spring I
NEVER would have done in the past, I installed new sprockets on an "O" ring chain with 9,700 miles on it. There was no perceived wear on the sprockets and there is still none at 11,700 miles. I used to joke about "O" ring chains being junk - that's when I would change my entire chain/sprocket set at 18,000 miles. I no longer joke about "O" ring chains. I wouldn't be surprised to see 25-30,000 miles on the current chain and sprockets. I lube my chain every 235 miles.
