I still practice a lot of low speed stuff in a parking lot every month or so! While it's really easy after a couple years, reinforcing those skills cannot hurt, only help. I try and recommend anyone to head out to a legal, empty parking lot and at least do some low speed corning/throttle control exercises from time to time. They are skills that can save your butt and your bike!

If the police do approach you, simply explain what you are doing as they are probably just curious and looking for stunters. I've never had a police person tell me to leave after I've explained what I was doing. Just please be respectful as they are just doing their job.
