Daniel, the manual is showing that the secondary winding is grounded to the iron of the coil. It's also showing the wrong way to measure the primary, so yes it appears the diagram is incorrect. My "base manual" for the pregens shows the measurement of the primary correctly, like your photo.

You're saying your coil secondary is not connected to the coil iron, so I don't know why there's a discrepancy. Many coils are made like the one you have, so it's possible that various batches that Kawasaki bought are not all the same, or it's possible the diagram is wrong there too.

If you're reading 2.6 ohms for the primary resistance and 13.8k (13,800) for the secondary, it's not showing a problem. The coil may still be bad and not showing that with resistance readings, but by this test method the coil seems to be OK.

If I had a spare coil I'd check it to see if it's like yours, with the secondary not connected to the iron, but I'm sorry I don't. Maybe check your other one and see if it's the same.
