Thank you for escorting that Marine and his family to Arlington.

You are in your own League!

After thinking about the ride a Saddle Sore 1,000 doesn't seem so far fetched now. I did the 450 miles in about 11 hrs. Had 3 stops on the way up, one food/really cold/bathroom, one bathroom and one fuel. Waited around for about 45 minutes in NJ before we headed to Arlington. Stopped twice for at least 30 minutes on the way to Arlington, then spent 20 minutes or so in Arlington before I headed home. Now the part where the NJ Troopers escorted us saved some time, but I think the long breaks and the slow side roads getting to the turnpike wiped that out pretty quick. Cut back on the stop times, which should be pretty easy, and I'm thinking I need to start planning one of these with proper clothing, snacks and route.
