So I shimmed my carbs a few months ago. Size M3, only two washers per carb. Shortly after I installed a Two Bros slip on canister. Ever since then I've noticed a large consumption of gas (which doesn't bother me...too much) and a really rough start up (which bothers me a lot). I have to push the button and hold it two maybe three times just to get her purring. Every now and then I get a wonderful backfire noise as well, which scares the bejesus outta me.

My questions are: should I add an extra washer, or drop one washer from each carb? Will that fix the problem? Should I do something else to fix the problem, if there even is one?

Or am I talking about things I know nothing about?
