It also helps that the pregen adjustment isn't nearly as labor-intensive. The shim-under-bucket valves in the newgen make a huge difference in cost. I've seen mechanics state in no uncertain terms that this change was made at the request of dealers complaining about the low-margin bike that was taking an increasingly large chunk of their sales year after year.
