Understandable. Mine is in the garage all winter, so I try and get as much of my work done as I can then. Obviously jetting is what has to wait till I can actually ride in warmer temps...
De-snorkeling makes the exhaust and intake sound more throaty, and pulls a little harder up top. The shimming makes the mid range smoother.
btw, taking off the snorkel should take about 5 minutes, and my fastest ever shim-job was like 10
I'm trying to convince my buddy to remove his snorkel, except then my bike wouldn't be faster...
