[motorcycle.com] - 2015 EICMA: Bimota Tesi 3D RaceCafe

Recently, Bimota gave us a preview of the new models and technologies it would be unveiling at EICMA 2015. Among them was a new Tesi 3D RaceCafe model utilizing the famous hub steering seen in the rest of the Tesi line. Now we finally have photos of the Tesi 3D RaceCafe to go along with the specs revealed earlier.

The 3D RaceCafe, as the name implies, will be offered in alongside the Tesi 3D Naked in Bimota’s effort to latch on to the growing Cafe Racer segment of the market. The distinctive Tesi RC makes use of two swingarms utilizing light alloys for the hubs and carbon fiber tubes for the trellis.

Ride height is adjustable, with millimeter precision, says Bimota, using two eccentrics where the front and rear suspensions are joined to the chassis. The front end can be adjusted through a range of 9.5mm and the rear has a range of 14mm. In total, the Tesi 3D RC can be raised or lowered up to 23mm.

Power for the Tesi 3D RC comes from the Ducati 803cc Twin, ushering in an era at Bimota where outright performance isn’t the main objective. Instead, with the Tesi 3D RC, Bimota is looking at a different customer base. A set that appreciates motorcycles that are “always easier to ride and manage.”

At press time, price and expected availability were not available. We’ll update if/when we get more information.
