Like airplane accidents, motorcycle accidents often have more than one contributing factor. Yes - there may have been gravel on the road, but any rear brake pressure would then make it more likely to happen exactly as the video shows. If there was no braking or at least smooth braking front/rear at that point, the front and rear would have slid much more similarly (and more controllably) than what we saw. What the video shows is that while in the turn, the front didn't budge but the rear locked and slid out immediately, so they behaved very differently, even if hitting the same potential gravel patch.
