about 6-8 years ago I spent an entire summer with my grandparents at the beach, they didn't have a large selection of books. Read a few old war books, a russian mystery novel and the anne of green gables collection. I picked up the first book completely by chance and was hooked within the hour.
That summer I read anne of green gables, anne of avonlea, anne of the island, anne of windy poplars, anne's house of dreams, and anne of ingleside. I believe that is the complete series. Down the line I also watched the movies, preferred the books but the movies were good as well.
That summer was amazing all I did was read books, enjoy the beach, play golf & tennis, ride bicycles & skateboards, and spend quality time with my extended family as they dropped by for their time at the beach.
Probably my favorite book series that I've ever read, the lord of the rings trilogy and harry potter didn't even come close.
