You are correct! But LOL when I read "office," since in this case the "office" is a tiny, very dirty, messy, full, corner of a building of significant size. It actually gives the impression that what you describe might be a typical business practice. A business of this size, in this day and age, must have a fair amount of paper work and red tape, but it's hard to imagine where they do it!
