I bought a basket case 250 Ninja last week as a father/son project. The transmission would only go into first gear and neutral. Turned out the positive neutral finder in fifth gear was damaged and prevented the shift drum from rotating up beyond neutral by binding the shift fork from sliding further on the shift drum. I put a new set of gears in and decided to make a video showing how a transmission works. Hope this helps anyone working on their transmission.
