rubber o-ring cracking
I know this thread is old but I just acquired a 2008 250R and it has an SSR fuel cap on it.
I opened it and found that the o-ring under the cap is cracked in multiple places.
Is this normal that you have to replace these darn caps every few years?
I also read in the manufacturer website that we are supposed to apply a thin layer of silicone on the rubber to protect it? Wouldn't the silicone gets dislodged by the gasoline and end up in the combustion chamber?
